Almost every conversation here starts with something new: a blend, a profile, a variety a buyer has asked for. The new thing then has to become an old thing quickly, made every week on the same line and tasting exactly as it did on approval. It shows up, for example, as a sample that cannot be reproduced at scale, a profile that drifts once it becomes a weekly run, or a smoke note that has to be there without a smokehouse.

Technical knowledge
A flavour is not one substance. It is a population of volatiles, and heat does not remove them evenly. The light, high impact notes go first, so what comes out of the process is not a weaker version of what was approved. It is a heavier, flatter one.
That is why raising the dose does not bring it back. It doubles what survived along with what was already too much.
